Cadillac Black Wing V8 engine may be used by companies other than GM

March 10,2020

Cadillac has spent a lot of time and money developing the Black Wing V8 engine, but in the end it was only used on the CT6-V model. However, the CT6-V will be officially discontinued after the new generation of Escalade is launched. Cadillac originally planned to use the engine on the CT5-V model, but eventually it was not adopted due to cost reasons, and the hope of being installed on the new generation of Cadillac models is very slim.

Cadillac president said in an interview with foreign media that although the Black Wing V8 engine is no longer mounted on Cadillac brand models, it may be mounted on other company models. Foreign media speculate that the company may be the Italian car manufacturer Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT). Its new model will be designed by the company and it will use GM's V8 engine. This V8 engine is likely to be Cadillac Blackwing V8 engine.

For Cadillac, the Blackwing V8 engine has been "discontinued." But we still believe that it will be reborn on other models.
